Park Series: Lake Camelot Park

What to expect?

  • Castle/dragon/knight medieval themed play equipment
  • Very small (and quiet!!), but unique (and quiet!!)
  • Port a pottie is available near playground
  • Relatively minimal parking
  • Wood chip footing (and rubber under swings) and cement path surrounding park and lake
  • Large sandbox, a playground for bigger kids as well as one for toddlers, and swings
  • Simple picnic pavilion for some shade or a snack (only two picnic tables)
  • Can walk all the way around the lake (about one mile), which is beautiful and shaded by the trees
  • Walk includes a long wooden bridge that stretches into the water
  • Running/biking paths around the lake would be a fun outing in and of itself
  • Three bench swings sitting at various spots around the lake to relax and take it all in
  • TIP: Start your day at the Original Pancake House in Maple Grove, then drive the 5 minutes to the park to spend the morning playing. Full tummies = Happy kiddos. Mucho coffee = Happy parents.

What to bring?

  • Snacks/a lunch to picnic
  • Sand toys to play in the sandbox
  • Bikes for zipping around the paved path
  • Kid’s binoculars to look for birds, turtles and ducks while out on the bridge or walking around the lake
