Park Series: Lagoon Park

LAGOON PARK
Jordan, MN

What to expect?

  • Wood chip footing under playground equipment, surrounded by cement path
  • Splash pad across the grass with smaller, non-intimidating water equipment – activated every 5 minutes by a button you have to push
  • Free separate parking lots for both the park area and the beach area; watch for cars!
  • Bathrooms are indoor in brick building between splash pad and beach
  • Regular swings, a baby swing and an accessible swing
  • Small toddler playground area and substantial bigger kids area with (the tallest)monkey bars(I’ve ever seen), zip line, rock wall and more
  • Nice picnic shelters with tables and benches
  • Everything was FREE – the beach, the splash pad, the park!
  • Beach was a decent size with nice sand – did not see lifeguard chairs
  • I’m pretty sure there might be concessions open during the summer months inside the building but they weren’t when we were there
  • A pretty view of a waterfall from near the main parking lot
  • TIP: Jordan is home of Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store and ZAP Arcade too! Both of these places are 100% worthy of stopping if you have your kiddos with you!

What to bring?

  • Sand toys for sandbox and beach area
  • Kickballs, soccer balls, baseballs, or any activity really (there are volleyball nets too) – HUGE grassy field
  • A blanket to lounge on the grass… and sunscreen
  • Maybe scooters, bikes or rollerblades for buzzing around all of the Lagoon Park area
  • Swimsuits and towels if you want to do the splash pad or the beach
  • A change of clothes in case the originals gets wet somehow (splash pad, beach)
  • Lunch or snacks to enjoy in the picnic shelters
  • Cash – if you decide to hit up the nearby MN Largest Candy Store (which only accepts cash) or if the concession stand is open
