“It took nine months to put it on. It will take nine months to get it off.”
This is the quote I hear constantly post-pregnancy when my hips don’t magically slide right back into those non-maternity skinny jeans. Although it is true, I believe with a little self-accountability and motivation, I really don’t have to wait those full nine months. Right?
After having our third (and final) child in four years, I found myself wanting to get back into shape more than ever. I wanted to feel good in my own skin faster than the nine months it took to put it on. So I gave all of my (still perfectly-fitting) maternity clothes away, joined a gym, and met with a personal trainer. Long story short, the gym fee was doable, but when I was handed an estimate on what the cost would be to keep that trainer rooting for me on the sidelines? Whoa!! Thanks, but no thanks. A month of preschool or a month of personal training? Meh. “I’ll let ya know after I talk to my husband,” I told him. I never talked to my husband because I knew there had to be something more affordable, less pressured, and just as good.
That’s when I found it – online personal training. I follow 57Fit on Facebook because the owner is a friend of mine so I know he specializes in women’s fitness. I’ve always been wow’ed and inspired by the changes his clients make in a short period of time. I made the phone call and Marcus Watson laid it all out there. For only $50/month, I would get a customized workout plan, nutrition guidance, one in-person training session a month, and a super supportive trainer just a phone call, email or text away. And the best part of all? The convenience! Let’s face it – as parents, our schedules are crazy. We rarely are where we need to be at the right time, we cancel plans last minute, and we have these needy people called children who make our heads hurt and our brains burst. With online training, no one is waiting for me at the gym for our scheduled appointment. I can go at my convenience and leave when I finish.
Don’t have a gym membership? Marcus can write up a workout plan for you to follow from the comfort of your own home. He is creative and knowledgeable and caters to your specific needs. Being an active father himself, he understands. “Exercise helps to prolong bone density loss, osteoporosis, and muscle loss that women experience. I just want them to be healthy so they can run around with their kids,” he says. Hey, that’s what I want too!
The $50 fee is for four weeks, with a 12 week minimum. You weigh yourself every Monday, measure every four weeks, and take pictures at the end of the four weeks to see results. It’s been a couple of months for me and I’m loving the renewed energy I have when chasing my girls around the house. I feel better, I feel healthy, and I feel like I’m holding myself accountable for whatever number of months it will take to get that baby weight off.
With the new year upon us, give 57FIT a whirl and see for yourself how easily online personal training can fit into your life…busy parenting and all. Give Marcus a call at 763-670-3813 or email info@57fit.com to talk about options that will work for your lifestyle.
